This is, after the introduction and the first section on the Wyrley area prior to the Great War, the second section on Great Wyrley and the Great War; it examines, in two parts, the war months of 1914. These two parts, of which this is the second, look at the initial responses in Wyrley, Cheslyn Hay and other areas, to recruitment, fund-raising, food economy, as well as local support and understanding of the war, along with its views of the foe.
